“THIS new road will alleviate congestion and relieve pressure on Rutherglen town centre, which will be increasingly important because traffic is widely expected to increase as the economy grows."

Away and give yourself peace. Growing economy in Rutherglen? Seriously. Would that be the charity shop sector then.

RE Las Vegas flight drama: Thank goodness that this happened while it was on the tarmac, I'm sure the passengers were shaken up, but probably just thankful to be alive, lady luck was on their side as they left Vegas even if they had a bad time at the tables.

BA's safety record is one of the best, it just shows that these complex machines are incredibly vulnerable no matter how thorough the safety regimen.

I HAPPENED to be in the City Centre and was dismayed to see that people were still lying about in sleeping bags at the bottom of Hope Street and under the railway bridge at Argyle Street one was openly drinking alcohol which is a crime.

This scenario has been going day and night for weeks now goodness knows what visitors and tourists think. When does the tipping point arise will it be when police and council are forced to act.

Will it be when there are sleepers camping out on every street and people are forced to walk on the roads because the pavements are occupied. Surely some help support and encouragement could be applied to ensure our pavements are reserved for walking.

ON the refugee crisis, there are people on out streets that are homeless and hungry so what about them? what about the families facing welfare cuts and having use food banks to put food on their table, what about them?

So many care more about everyone else before caring less about the people they are stepping over sleeping homeless in the street.

PERHAPS if all these people had stayed behind to defend their country they wouldn't be causing these problems now. Just as well the people of the UK didn't do the same during two world wars.
