THE Government is bleating about setting up task forces to save jobs. The first thing this task force should do is put a compulsory purchase order on all of the plants and assets of these companies, in lieu of all the public money they have received over the years in the form of grants and subsidies. If they do not do this I have no doubt these plants will be dismantled and sent to China or India, or some other third world country as happened in the 1980's. But I will not hold my breath on this happening.

I COULD not believe it when I read about the state of affairs there. We now have volunteers filling in for staff. Also closing the Victoria,Western and Glasgow Royal Infirmary are big mistakes. If we have a major disaster and the current shortage of places for discharged patients I dread to think of it.

Putting all the eggs in one basket which is leaking is not a good idea.

Shona Robison is always making excuses but obviously well out of her depth.I nursed in the Southern General many years ago and everything ran smoothly with only a few admin staff.

Disgusted.

MY wife Margot Sharp had a hypo when we were walking down Buchanan Street. I was unable to leave her because of her condition. Two Scottish ladies saw my plight and asked if they could help. I explained and one ran off and brought a bottle after a few minutes the two ladies, angels, left us. Margot pulled around, asked where the ladies were to thank them but they were gone.

Margo and I would just like to thank the people of Glasgow for the help we received.

We're Geordies and visit Glasgow a couple of times a year, as our granddaughter is at uni. So thank you Scotland.

REGARDS City Parking losses, I can hold up my head and proudly say that I am one member of the public who may have helped them on their way with their loss.

I refuse point blank to pay the exorbitant meter and car park charges.Fortunately I don't have any real need to go into the city and instead take my pound notes to Braehead or the Forge. No snoopy wardens there.
