REGARDS thousands of litres of probably cancer-causing chemicals sprayed in Glasgow's parks, Councillor Wardrop would be better spending her time reducing traffic in Glasgow's streets by encouraging use of public transport and discouraging use of private cars. In my experience her priority is quite the opposite. She is very keen to make it easier for people to drive to the shops and businesses in my neighbourhood and park outside.

The risk of cancer from glyphosate (which is a 'possible' carcinogen, unlike bacon and sausages which know are linked to cancer) is really only of concern to the council employees who are handling the stuff. They need to be appropriately trained and supplied with suitable safety equipment.

IT was Enoch Powell who remarked "Devolution allowed (note the allowed) means POWER retained".

As a mere region of the YooKay Holyrood has to work within Westminster's restraints, one hand tied behind our backs.

London collects all Scotland's taxes and then gives us some of it back. Now it is cutting tax credits but Tory multi millionaire IDS says Holyrood can put up taxes in Scotland if it wants to replace the cuts they are introducing. You couldn't make it up.

Pay extra to replace London's Tory cuts, the cuts Cameron promised he wouldn't introduced.

Better together?

ON Scottish Labour voting to scrap Trident, will they support leaving Europe now as well, they surely can't abolish Trident then shelter under NATO's umbrella but is that not what hypocrites do. SNP is trying, allegedly to save a few hundred jobs in the steel industry, Labour has just said goodbye to thousands. No I'm not a Tory , how many of those who voted to scrap trident would go to Russia or North Korea and openly protest there, words are so easy.

WELL done The North British Branch of the Labour Party.

I just wonder how long it will be until you are whipped back into line by your bosses in the South.
