NOW that the dark mornings and evenings are upon us, travelling west bound along the Broomielaw, Squinty Bridge and Govan Road towards the not so super new hospital motorists like myself have to contend with countless buses with their headlamps shining directly in your face.

They are technically on the wrong side of the road and it must be the same for the bus drivers and their passengers not to mention the shambles at the Squinty Bridge.

Why didn't this hopeless Glasgow City Council, SNP government and Police Scotland do something about this - ie why not make this into a dual carriage way with the left hand lane just for buses and taxis and the peak times the way it is everywhere else in the city.

BUSINESS owner JG's tongue in cheek letter in the ET completely misses the point on wages.

If his or her business cannot afford to pay a wage at a level that is accepted as a decent living wage then one can only come to one conclusion, the business has failed.

It was not the salary of working people that has caused the current austerity measures, and the near collapse of the public rescued banks.

It was the failure of capitalism.

RECENTLY I've had to turn to the private rental sector to look for a smaller home and im astounded by the attitude towards DSS tenants. I'm having to rely on housing benefit due to ill health after working since the week I left school 22 years ago, but I feel degraded by the replies of "sorry NO DSS" from almost all landlords I've approached.

I think this is absolutely disgusting especially with the numbers seeking private lets due to the bedroom tax. It would be illegal to state "no disabled" or be discriminative against any other group of people, so why is it then ok to act in such a way toward people who are unfortunate enough to have to rely on housing benefit?

I've stopped looking now and resigned myself to the fact that until something changes I will just HAVE to live in poverty for the foreseeable future paying for my extra rooms that I really cant afford. Landlords should start looking at the bigger picture and judge people on their references and ability to pay rent rather than whether they receive housing benefit or not.

I WAS a Lucky winner with the Moffat Manor Holiday park Competition you ran in October.

Just to say we had a fantastic time there. Lodge was superb and the food

voucher we also got came in handy in the lovely restaurant that is on site.

The staff made us very welcome.
