As it's trying top emulate a tram, a tram line it should have been - also extending to the SECC/HYDRO, the Riverside Museum, Partick Interchange. Now there's a thought and the Glasgow Harbour development - possibly crossing the river near Linthouse to reach the QEUH and Braehead, rather than the slow traipse through Govan.

REGARDS Pavillion boss highlighting lack of council funding as £3 million is given to other arts venues, it is impossible to disagree with Ian Gordon and I am an opera goer. Ultimately the council tax payers are subsidising the ticket price of the patrons of those venues. Clearly we do not wish to use class in an argument, but the obvious feature is that this subsidy is provided mainly to the more affluent. No need to involve politics, it simply cannot be justified.

BINMEN should be given "danger money" to uplift the rubbish in Govanhill. Day in and day out they are confronted with rat infested back courts, filthy blood splattered and stained mattresses lying about street corners and streets that are littered so badly you can barely see the kerbs. Any reduction to cleansing services in Govanhill on the South Side of Glasgow would be an utter catastrophe for the neighbourhood and lead to serious public health issues.

The Let's Save Govanhill campaign led by local residents will support the council workers in their fight to save our level of service provision in any way we can.

The whole of the city deserves a decent service. Instead we have a Labour Party controlled Council, supported by the unions, who would rather spend £48,000 a year on giving a job to a disgraced party hack to be a "special advisor"to their leader. It is time people woke up to the realities of where this administration is choosing to spend our Council Tax.

CAN'T believe the Rogano restaurant is celebrating 80 years. While it might not be a place I frequent often, it is great to see it standing the test of time. They should be congratulated for being such a great ambassador for the city.
