REGARDS Scots motorists to be banned from parking on pavements after campaign by disability groups, it should be illegal to park beside and across from driveways.

I made my two driveways be able take our families cars off the road but can hardly get in and out due to people parking next to my drive and across the road and the rest of the road is a slalom with people not parking in their driveways but on the pavements/road.

God knows what will happen when they park fully on the road and block it entirely.

......

Good news for pedestrians. Too many car owners think that they MUST park right outside their door.

ON Burrell Collection's Joseph Crawhall art works set to be shown in London for the first time, he is one of my all time favourites. The Burrell has the biggest collection of Crawhall’s work anywhere. The problem is with The Burrell, those responsible have failed to present a substantial exhibition of Crawhall’s work. Any showing of his work has always been limited to a dozen or so. Ditto for Kelvingrove Art Gallery, the permanent Glasgow Boy display, from memory, only shows one Crawhall work - an oil - none of his watercolours. Few years back, Edinburgh produced an excellent show of Glasgow Boy Crawhall’s work without even borrowing from Glasgow’s collection.

Maybe, hopefully, someday, The Burrell or Kelvingrove will do a hundred plus showing of Crawhall’s work - why keep them hidden?

Good luck to the folk at the meadow.I had many happy hours there when I was a pupil at North Kelvinside school and its great to see the community using the site.Hopefully the council decision wlll go for them.

THANK goodness Glasgow City Council is not planning to reverse a ban on having snack vans near schools after North Lanarkshire lost its fight for an exclusion zone.

Surely we are just putting temptation in the way of these school kids.

What chance do they have of living a healthy life and developing good nutritional habits if there is a burger van outside the school.

Healthy eating has to start in the home and be continued with education right through school.
