THE problem with the Silverburn roundabout, Tuesday's Evening Times, is that:

A: the pedestrian crossings just off of here are too close to it, creating a "blind spot" to motorists.

B: drivers do not usually give way to traffic coming from their right, as they should.

C: drivers do not use their indicators correctly, causing other road-users to guess their intentions.

I also think there should be a slip-road built to enable artics coming into/coming out of the Tesco service area to present less of an obstacle here.

I ASKED at the time of Silverburn being built if there would be any improvements to the road infrastructure but was told no need as there were systems being put in place, this amounted to some road widening for access to the M77 and additional traffic lights on Peat Road,. Was never going to be enough, Silverburn is growing , more folks visit and toad more congested, hope it gets the green light.

LOOKS like the Fastlink set up is still confusing people.

This morning I saw a car zoom up the empty lane while I was sitting in a line of traffic to head towards the Broomielaw.

Now perhaps the driver did not want to wait and decided to go in the Fastlink lane deliberately.

If it was who can blame him, the congestion in the two dedicated car lanes is horrendous. It is about time we revised the bridge traffic policy yet again. When will they ever get it right.

REGARDS call for playground supervision before school begins, yesterday's Evening Times, some parents will use it as a pre-school child care. I know of personally some parents who drop their kids off at School at about 8am....roughly an hour before school starts.

.....

I AM not surprised that this idea has been put suggested.

While school kids hours, quite rightly remain the same, there is no getting away from the fact the parents working hours are all over the place.

No one does a straight forward 9 to 5 anymore and with shift patterns and days on and off, it can be difficult to juggle everything.

Maybe the 20 minute supervision would be a good thing as if they were outdoors it would be extra time for exercise and keeping healthy.
