ALL the Star Wars fans looked great at the Glasgow premiere, dressed up as their favourite characters (Evening Times, December 17) and by all accounts the movie itself is a great success.

But it seems all the big money-spinners lately are sequels or franchises, from The Hunger Games to X-Men and Madagascar.

There’s so much cash riding on big film projects these days, it seems directors and producers are scared to come with any original ideas. It’s a shame.

WHEN the winter cold bites, I’m the first to complain about my numb fingers and slippery pavements.

However, there’s something just not right about the mild December we are having – I’ve seen people in T-shirts carrying their Christmas shopping and I heard that down south the daffodils are in bloom.

With the recent Paris talks on climate change just finished, maybe we really all need to take this issue more seriously and do our bit to get the seasons back where they belong. This isn’t ‘good’ weather – for December, it’s downright creepy.

I HAVE had my fill of health reports. They are so misleading.

Last night I heard that cancer is now linked to lifestyle and not just your luck.

Some days I can't drink red wine and then other days, it's apparently good for me.

I need Vitamin D from the sun, but can't really go out in the sun. Where does this all end and who is right?

I think my grandparents might actually have been better off without all the information at their fingertips as it certainly isn't doing us any good.

Guidance is all very well, but for it to change from one minute to the next is beyond a joke.
