PLANS to turn Glasgow's former Paddy's Market into Scotland's premier food court have been revealed.

The idea for its rehabilitation with London's famous Borough Market the aspiration for a revival.

Here is what our readers had to say:

The biggest asset thereabouts is the little used railway running atop the disused arches - which could provide Glasgow's, indeed Scotland's south to north CROSSRAIL line - but continually dismissed by Transport Scotland which fails to recognise the true value and potential of this glaring, extant asset, within its great "scheme of things," connecting across the very heart of ScotRail's busiest network of routes - enhancing the possibility of an adjacent interchange station, with the Argyle Line below, at Glasgow Cross.

Remember the Briggait Shopping centre? It failed disastrously, due to wrong location. same will happen here.

Borough Market is fantastic, if they could have anything half as good it'd worth it. People are going to get bored of Finnieston (know I am) sooner or later. It would be good to start reinvigorating another part of Glasgow.

Nicola Sturgeon has revealed £4m cash for schools while Labour warn more is needed.

See our readers' response:

Good news Nicola, people should realise that you operate with one hand tied behind your back thanks to Westminster.

Now we hear Labour's branch office in Scotland saying it isn't enough. Perhaps Mr Gray or even wee Jim Murphy will head off to London with their begging bowls to ask their Tory pals for more resources, after all, we're better together aren't we?

£4m, is that all. She sent £12m overseas in aid. We'll soon be a third world status country. What is it with politicians realising that home is first for support. Then look to help others. They are a strange crowd these politicians.

I THOUGHT the tribute from Tom Joyes at the Glasgow Barrowlands on David Bowie was very fitting.

He was an artist who touched many generations and his Glasgow star story of capturing a dropped star from the venue is great.

I can't imagine a world without Bowie, but at least his music will live on.

REGARDS homeless kids being in temporary accommodation, no kids should be sleeping rough on our streets. Mind you no one at all should be. This is shocking there's plenty of empty buildings they could make them into homeless units. Nicola sturgeon get you're finger out and give these kids a home or get them somewhere to stay.
