SCOTTISH Tories have been compared to much-mocked car manufacturer Skoda by the party's own leader.

Ruth Davidson said she was trying emulate the success Volkswagen had when it overhauled the Czech firm and made it successful by improving its "rubbish" vehicles.

Here's what our online readers had to say:

"Scottish Conservatives and Scottish Labour" one and the same!

Who can ever forget them joined at the hip and holding hands during the referendum spreading their false messages of doom if we dared go our own way?

Their forked tongue Project Fear scared the elderly in particular, now their boss Cameron and his pal Osborne are busy making the poorest in society pay for it through welfare cuts.

Wee Jim Murphy.... where has he been lately....and Ruth... part and parcel of the same mindset....'We're too poor, too stupid and too thick' to join the rest of the world's independent nations.

In the past the pair of them would have been described as Uncle Tom's, many would say they deserve such a title.

Project Fear was a phrase coined by ''Yes'' supporters when they realised that they couldn't win the referendum vote on the facts. The referendum wasn't even about Independence as the SNP wanted to stay in the EU and still do.

I WAS sorry to read that right to die campaigner Gordon Ross had passed away.

He was inspirational in bringing the issue to the fore again. No one can ever really put themselves in his position.

I hope his family get through the sad time and take comfort that he tried to achieve something in this controversial debate.

A WINE 10K - where do I sign. No to make light of it, I think you have to see the positives here.

It will certainly get some people interested in pulling on their trainers and going for a six mile run.

It might even appeal to those who might never have entered a real race. If it means that more people will have access to fitness than I all for it. Cheers!

AS a frequent traveller I just hope that the Queen Street facelift is worth it. It seems like a lot of work and disruption.

It always seems to be passengers who bear the brunt of delays and changes. You have to wonder if all this work could have been done years ago instead of at a time when commuter congestion is already at its peak
