SOUTH side community councils have joined forces to ensure locals have a say in a major development.

We reported how five groups have formed the Victoria Forum, asking residents to their opinion on the future of the former Victoria Infirmary.

Here is what our reader had to say:

WE should never forget that so many local people have an emotional attachment to the Vicky. It isn't just another development site. For all of my life that Vicky has been a part of the community and a very important community asset. This site has been an asset for common good and any redevelopment needs to involve local input.

I DON'T remember anyone in Crookston or Pollok being consulted in what happened with a much bigger Leverndale hospital. Just punt it to the highest bidder to turn into flats.

WE revealed the West and End and South Side's messiest streets in yesterday's Evening Times.

Here's what our readers thought:

I HAVE been using the My Glasgow app to report overflowing litter bins, flytipping, dog mess etc and still very little seems to get done. I was told that it can take up to seven days to arrange for overflowing bins to be emptied. The area in which I live - Tradeston, is a total disgrace though we are expected to pay £2700 per annum council tax for the pleasure of living in what has become a very run down area due to the lack of services being provided and total neglect by GCC. There are virtually no litter bins and what few there are do not get emptied. A TV has been dumped on the road next to a local cash and carry and has been there for over four months. One example (of which there are many) of the standard of service we get - this would never be allowed to happen in the city centre where the service being provided is far superior.

I AM glad to hear its not just me. I too am fed being a good citizen and using the same app on my iPhone and using the Glasgow Council website to report similar things in my neighbourhood in the Gorbals and nothing gets done.

DIRTY streets in Glasgow - it's no wonder. Some bright spark where I live decided to rip out the contents of a hole flat. They left the gear to be picked up by the kerbside collection. It's just shame they missed the Friday morning upload as now it will be there for days.

OUR streets are a disgrace. You can go to the busiest streets all over Europe and they are immaculate. You could eat your dinner off of some of the streets - if you wanted to. We really need to get our act together in this country.
