It will still not solve the problem unless someone is policing on hospital grounds. After spending months in and out of hospitals sometimes feeling so sick from chemotherapy, walking past a cloud of smoke on the way into what is a cancer hospital was horrific on both levels.

It made me feel ill and I was horrified at the number of patients out with their drips in their pyjamas still smoking. I think this is wrong.

Patients shouldn't be allowed to leave their hospital beds for a smoke.

I'll never understand why people think it's acceptable to smoke outside hospitals. The smoke only ends up in the hospital, the last thing people who are ill need. It's very selfish.

This is great but will see how it is enforced. My granda is currently in the Southern General and every time I come out the back door of the building I need to run the gauntlet and the floor is absolutely thick with cigarette butts, it is disgusting.

There are patients and visitors smoking who stand right beside the No Smoking signs every day outside Gartnavel General and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. They just don't care.

I am sure we have more important issues to address. I do not smoke but my experience tells me smokers have a habit and keeping them from this is very cruel and will not stop them.

Give them a space and leave them alone. Give your energy to important issues, we have so many in the world today.

I really don't see how this can be enforced as you can't tell a patient who's staying in the hospital they can't smoke.

It would be against their human rights. They need to give them somewhere to go for a cigarette.

I'm not a smoker but I'm wise enough to know people are addicted to smoking.

I feel really sorry for the families in Possilpark who have suffered flooding so often in their homes.

I had a similar problem years ago, though am an owner-occupier and had to resolve the damage myself, and it is incredibly stressful.

I hope they get it sorted out as soon as possible and don't have a repeat of this problem.
