REGARDING imposing a sugar tax on soft drinks.

The problem is that, nowadays, almost everything we eat has sugar content, even bread.

So should we not be contacting food manufacturers and asking them to reduce the amount they us?

Also, what about sugar itself? Should that not be taxed as well?

After all, there are sugar substitutes we can use.

Regarding the new 20 miles per hour zone in Glasgow City Centre, I'm starting to believe that these people who sit in the City Chambers have nothing better to do with their time than to come up with these crazy, ludicrous ideas without thinking what this will mean to the likes of public transport or getting into a black hack taxi.

But, yet again, it's the motorist who are the target for an easy couple of million pounds.

Regards your story about the potential demolition of the Admiral Bar, Who is going to fill these offices?

There are umpteen new builds around town and many old lying empty.

The city centre has been mauled by new builds. I say keep some tradition alive.

While we're on the subject of buildings, I'm wondering when redevelopment of the old courts on James Morrison Street will be happening.

There's now plant life growing through the brickwork.

Doubtless Glasgow City Council is waiting for this architectural gem to fall beyond the point of repair and sell the land to the highest bidder.

Was in this bar a few times many years ago, very nice place.

My view is that the heyday of pubs is well over, many close early during the week and as a cross-section I know quite a few people who take their pleasure at home.

Times change and if there is an opportunity to create 800 jobs then go for it.
