Try living in Partick and trying to park your car.

Between Subway users and local businesses I am at my wit's end. Same folk travelling to and from work leave the poor residents at their wits end who in turn have to circle for up to an hour to get home to prepare their family meal.

Bring on the parking permits.

What a relief. It doesn't guarantee me my space but I may get home sooner if it's monitored and it may deter the abusers.

In response to your article on Thursday and Friday's letter in relation to cemetery costs in East Dunbartonshire I would like to clarify the following:

Our cemetery costs were increased in previous Council budgets following a consultation process where the people of East Dunbartonshire prioritised increases in charges over the reduction or removal altogether of services. Even with our increased prices, cemetery services in East Dunbartonshire remained subsidised.

All those requesting a burial in East Dunbartonshire are advised of the cost of internment in advance so they are aware of the costs they are agreeing to and are offered support in terms of payment in instalment if they are not able to make full payment at the outset.

We have taken on board feedback and for this coming year have agreed to reduce cemetery charges by 25% - a fact that was provided to this paper in advance of Thursday’s article and it is disappointing that in terms of portraying a balanced picture this was omitted from the Council response included in that article.
