Shocked and appalled

I was shocked to read of the damage caused to a veteran Labour councillor's home.

Thieves trashed his home, taking his dead wives belongings and setting fire to his bed.

How heartbreaking this must be for councillor Stephen Grant who is still coping with the sudden loss of his wife.

I hope that the people who did this are caught and and punished.

This happened in a street where other people live, presumably.

Anyone with information should contact the police as a matter of urgency.

Counterfeit notes warning

Lanarkshire police, by way ofWednesday's Evening Times "advises" the public to be extra vigilant in respect of the discovery of counterfeit £20 notes in East Kilbride.

Surely, the sensible thing would be to give the public a description of these notes.

BoS, RBoS, BoE or Clydesdale bank, then we would know exactly what to look out for.
