REGARDING the story about a lack of lighting in Queen’s Park (Evening Times, April 19), it’s not just the park that needs better lighting.

Govanhill in general is poorly lit at night.

About a year ago I reported to the council there were more lights not working than working on notorious Allison Street.

Apart from the lights been dim, many still aren’t working in the area but Glasgow City Council doesn’t seem to care.

IT’S not just Queen's Park that the lighting is poor.

Those cost saving red light bulbs are useless on a dark morning or night.

We need better lighting everywhere, but that will mean higher council tax bills to pay for this.

I feel much less safe in Glasgow these days than I did when I was young.

Less police doesn’t help.

BECAUSE there is no lighting in the park, that is why people who do graffiti on the walls of the model boat clubhouse get away without being caught.

It is even time for CCTV to be installed in the park too to help catch those who do the graffiti so as they can be thrown in jail for a very long time.

SAME old claptrap again as election draws near.

Kissing babies, wearing hard hats, the usual promises for us when we are daft enough to elect them.

The same promises were made last time round but never delivered.

All ranks close if an MP or MSP is caught claiming falsely but only censured if the whistle is blown to media

.If Screaming Lord Sutch was around I would vote for him!

READING the story in the Evening Times about gaping holes appearing in Bellahouston Park, ahead of the Summer Sessions, (Evening Times, April 25) I think all events should be moved to a safer venue until this is repaired.

There is no sense in endangering lives for the sake of music.
