LIKE many of your readers, I’ve had close family and friends affected by breast cancer.

That is why I’m encouraging everyone to take a step forward for women with breast cancer this summer and sign up to the Pink Ribbonwalk to raise vital funds for leading charity Breast Cancer Care.

With five, 10 and 20 mile walks to choose from, you can get together with friends and family in some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and iconic cities including in Glasgow on June 25.

I’ve taken part in five Pink Ribbonwalks now and it really is so much more than just a day out!

Sadly every year, 60,000 people will receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer. But with your help the charity can continue to offer them vital care, support and information, every day, from day one.

You can sign up for a Ribbonwalk near you at www.breastcancercare.org.uk/ribbonwalk

Please join me and lend your support this summer.

READING that dads are finally going to be allowed to stay with newborns in hospital (Evening Times May 6), my baby was premature and my fiancé wasn’t allowed to stay with me.

I was in the room myself with my baby, my fiancé left in tears every night that he had to leave us!

This should have been allowed along time ago!!

REGARDING the story about the nurse who was allowed to stay in the profession after posting a vile Tweet about the Clutha disaster (Evening Times May 6), I disagree with this panel’s decision.

Someone who lacks emotion such as empathy and sympathy should not be working anywhere near children.

POST election, so what did ‘Scottish’ Labour expect from Glasgow?

We remember them standing shoulder to shoulder with the Tories. We will never forgive them for that!

Labour/Tory what’s the difference?

Incidentally, why are the Labour, Tory and LibDems named as ‘Scottish’ when down south their bosses don’t feel the need to add the ‘English’ to their party names?

Why don’t Labour and the LibDems go the whole hog and follow the lead of the ‘Scottish’ Conservatives and add ‘unionist’ to their official titles?
