THE Clyde tunnel roadworks (Evening Times June 1), this is what happens when our incompetent council wreck the roundabout and install traffic lights.

They make it near enough impossible to head towards Govan.

They also had the cheek to remove the roundabout at Moss Road which was perfectly fine and replace it with more traffic lights that cause even more congestion.

These lights are an accident waiting to happen.

THE council has a complete and utter disregard for citizens.

If they cared at all they would order their finger wagging officials off their high horses.

I look forward to voting for someone else (anyone other than the present incompetents) at the next council elections.

READING about the restaurant not allowed to sell rare burgers (Evening Times May 28), a steak has many cooking stages (bleu, rare, medium-rare, etc).

A burger has TWO cooking stages - RAW or COOKED.

There is no in-between, just like there is no in-between with poultry.

Also, the restaurant manager can't even state the correct core temperature to which foods must be cooked in this country, which is 75C not 78C.

His grasp of the situation is worrying to say the least.

The city council is absolutely correct in this instance. If this restaurant was to have an outbreak, the people currently defending them, would be the loudest shouters, asking why the council failed to act earlier.

If I were this restauranteur, Mr Carmo, I would take this case to the European court of whatever rights.

He is not contravening the trades description act but only giving his customers what they order from him.

He is being discriminated against as a beef steak can be ordered rare or whatever but not a pure beef burger.

By the way, I am not a big burger fan personally, but go for it Mr Carmo and take these tiny minded burger discriminators to the cleaners, we're right behind you.

THE story about the wedding shop closing (Evening Times June 1), surely this is criminal? Maybe the people affected by this woman's selfish actions should all get together and get in touch with the US consulate, to have her removed and bought back to the UK?

Just a thought.
