I SEE Sir Cliff Richard is taking the BBC and the police to court, good on him.

Maybe we will get the answers to the questions - who told the BBC that the police were about to execute a search warrant on sir cliffs home?, Why would the police tell the BBC about this, and is it the first time they have told the BBC about any search warrants about to be executed?

READING about former pupils causing £100,000 of damage to a school, (Evening Times July 12) too many kids are not being brought up right by people that weren’t brought up right themselves.

It’s intergenerational neglect on several fronts. The families are not capable of taking responsibility for themselves and shouldn’t be parents.

You need a license to drive a motor, have a telly, to breed dogs but any idiot can be a parent.

When they mess up there should be support and guidance for the children so they don’t grow up like their parents, but the state lets them down too and then the inevitable happens.

They need good role models, structure, jobs and something to look forward too. #They just join a gang because it’s the only thing paying them any attention.

When they catch the wee thugs that did this, the parents should be chain ganged in the playground and made to clean up the mess along with the government ministers who thought it was a good idea to close down youth clubs and leave communities devastated by poverty.

MY Scout group meet in this particular school and on one occasion, while we met inside, there were 60-70 teenagers ( some were even younger) in the school yard drinking.

Eventually two of them were knocking lumps out of each other with the rest encouraging them.

What is one “janny” patrolling the school going to do about that? Janitors are not paid to do the work of the police and the police can only do their job if people around the school are prepared to take action and stand up and give evidence, but “I don’t want to get involved in case it comes back on me” is the excuse too often given.

The parents of these children don’t know or don’t care what they are up to and need to be held to account and take some responsibility for the upbringing of their children.

There are hundreds of decent children in Barmulloch and the actions of a minority of thugs are now tarring them with the same brush.

It’s time for the decent folk to have a chance and for those who would destroy this community to be dealt with.

It’s not the “Janny” who nee
