YOUR correspondents in Friday’s letters page all bemoaned the SNP’s lack of applause for David Cameron on his final day as PM in the Commons, and suggested that the party were also creating trouble with calls for Scotland to remain in the EU.

Sorry, but I seem to recall SNP MPs being roundly rebuked by both the speaker and commentators for applauding in the chamber last year, as it wasn’t the done thing.

Has something changed since then? As for creating trouble, it’s hard to imagine a more chaotic political situation than we find ourselves in now thanks to Mr Cameron’s unnecessary referendum.

He had numerous warnings about the constitutional consequences of an Out vote not supported by one or more of the UK’s constituent nations - especially after the No campaign repeatedly told us that Scotland’s continuing membership of the EU was only safe with a No vote in the 2014 referendum.

I CAN hardly believe the readers who are complaining about SNP MP’s refusing to stand and clap Cameron.

I say well done to them. Cameron is one of the worst Prime Ministers in history and his party have a burning hatred for Scotland.

Their inhumane policies have caused heartbreak to many of our citizens.

The Labour Party stood and applauded but that is to be expected as they have voted with this heartless Government’s attack on living standards.

Applause for these Eton toffs? You must be joking!

FOLLOWING defeat in the Scottish Independence, then over one million Scottish people voting to leave Europe, what does our First Minister do but look for another independence referendum.

For the sake of the people of Scotland would the First Minister please focus on governing Scotland, ensure we are part of future UK trade agreements and stop, yes stop, this nonsense of trying to firstly make Scotland independent and secondly be part of Europe. If you don’t want to do this please resign.

The SNP, following the lack of the respect shown in Westminster by not clapping, are becoming the party that believe they are above the people in Scotland and this has to stop and stop now.

TERESA May has already shown her resolve by scrapping the Department of Energy and Climate Change within days of taking office and putting it in a corner of the new Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

As to be expected, the usual suspects in the environmental brigade are screeching in rage as their green dreams are sidelined.

The Climate Change Act 2008 is the most economically destructive force ever and soaks up £19 billion a year from taxpayers, electricity consumers, adds to manufacturing costs and stalls economic and export growth.

This Act has legally committed Britain to the most stringent “decarbonisation” targets in the world.

No other country has legally binding targets only “promises” and even the Paris promises are being ignored as countries realise the cost.

The huge expenditure pursuing the mythical carbon capture and storage fairy and that talking shop, the Committee on Climate Change, should both be axed.
