I READ with interest the article in Wednesday’s edition regarding the upcoming Summer Sessions event in Bellahouston park.

As a resident I would liked to have been at the meeting held which I’m sure not many of us knew about.

So ‘security will be beefed up’ - let’s hope so especially around local shops (yes on the side streets) where alcohol is sold not just for residents but the employees who work there.

Thank you to Craigton SNP councillor Alex Wilson who has so rightly pointed out that our beautiful area is now ‘very dark’ not just on the boulevard but Mosspark Drive too, a problem that I highlighted with Glasgow city council last year.

Our area was becoming very overgrown and what did they do about it?

Absolutely nothing as far as I could see sadly this year its even worse. So for the safety and enjoyment of everyone concerned let’s hope organisers and the city council sort these problems out.

A MACKENZIE (In your View July 27) is spot on.

The First Minster has absolutely no respect for the democratic rights of the majority of Scots who wish to remain in the UK.

She is hell bent in a personal vendetta to break up the union despite the majority of Scots voting against it.

Had Scotland gained independence we would now be bankrupt but she refuses to accept that fact. ‘Head in the sand politics’.

She needs to change tact and get on with running Scotland and stop ignoring the wishes of those who do not agree with her ludicrous ideas.

I AM becoming more disillusioned by the SNP because of Nicola Sturgeon and her fanaticism regarding Brexit, which is doing more harm to the party than good.

Westminster is not to blame for Brexit and she knows it.

David Cameron gave the people the referendum they asked for and many people in Scotland voted to come out of the EU in spite of her ranting.

She should do the job she was elected for to sort out the problems in Scotland such as the NHS, education, housing, the police force etc. instead of ego trips to boost her rating, no doubt at the tax payer’s expense.

DO all the people supporting the renewal of Trident not get it: if it actually was a deterrent then every country in the world would want it.

Who are we to determine that certain countries should be denied it?

Trouble is, as soon as one nation uses it the world will end. Some deterrent, eh? Best use the resources to create a better quality of life for everyone.
