POLLOK is not the only area of Glasgow that suffers from youth anti-social behaviour and hooliganism (Evening Times July 28).

I am sure most built up housing areas in Glasgow and other cities share the same ongoing problems.

Residents cannot constantly call police every time there is a problem, however, likewise children cannot be allowed to run riot; smashing bus shelters; smashing windows and bottles; kicking footballs in the street; residents subject to swearing and abuse every time you ask them to move on.

Hot spot areas should be identified and, like Neighbourhood Watch areas, be sign posted.

If each area has a crime problem report number, then perhaps this would allow swifter police action when problems are called to 101.

Better housing design; better provision of green space; with areas to play, congregate, or socialise would help. Simple artificial roads and kerbsides in parks to play “kerbie”.

Anything but nothing! Any solutions councillor McDonald can realise in Pollok need to be rolled out throughout.

I CAN’T help feel somewhat dismayed whenever I hear Nicola Sturgeon say that the people of Scotland want to remain in the EU and that taking Scotland out of the EU is against the will of the people.

Perhaps Nicola Sturgeon has never been to the parts of Scotland which have seen high immigration, particularly some parts of Glasgow.

This was the main reason why most people voted to leave the EU, due to their concern with the high immigration and the strain it is having on housing, NHS, schools and public services.

As the rest of the UK prepares to leave the EU, we in Scotland have a First Minister who is doing everything possible to keep Scotland in the EU, even if it means Independence and the breaking up of the United Kingdom.

As a country in the EU our doors would be open to the unlimited free movement of EU citizens and without being able to limit or control immigration, where would that leave our housing, NHS, schools and public services in the years to come?

WHEN is Sturgeon ever going to start doing her job for the benefit of the whole of Scotland, and not just a few?

We are still waiting in long lines to have operations and appointments on the Scottish NHS. Our children's education system is shameful and an embarrassment to us all. Our precious children still live in poverty. Our oil industry and oil economy is in shreds, but our First Minister is still out there collecting selfies and banging the same drum over, and over again.

Hasn't she heard of multitasking? Please give us back our proud Scotland that you are mismanaging into a very sorry state and if our economy gets any worse we will be a third world nation.
