With regards the rubbish piled up in the Bridgeton back court, it is ultimately the responsibility of the factors but in the name of God why don't the residents get together and do something?

Get a van, load it up and dump it at the door of the factor.

They'd do something about it then. How can people live like this, piling rubbish upon rubbish?

Take some responsibility.

I strongly suspect that if this had been about Govanhill, there would have been hundreds of comments made.

I was always led to believe that the good people of Bridgeton had standards and would never accept such a danger to their health or that of their children.

Why let this decomposing rubbish sit and then run to a newspaper to sort it out?

My friend had a similar issue in Maryhill and it was the residents in his close who, once the wheelie bins were filled, persisted in leaving out poly bags filled with rubbish which the foxes attacked voraciously and which the council binmen quite correctly refused to lift because of health and safety.

He did have severe words with the residents and enlisted the help of the council.

I would ask the people living in the close at Bridgeton if they dumped any of the bags.

I don't think the council or the factors are responsible for this debacle.

Factors fees are daylight robbery. They do little for their fees they charge.

I can't believe the amount of anti Nicola Sturgeon letters being published in the Evening Times recently.

She is one of the most decent and honest politicians to serve her country and certainly the finest First Minister this country has had.

Some may not agree politically with her but she certainly deserves more respect than the vitriol being spouted.
