READING about the fears of a copycat killing after the Asad Shah murder (Evening Times August 10), it says “The family don’t feel safe any more living here in Scotland. Some members of the family have left Scotland, or are in the process of leaving.”

Stuff like that keeps getting trotted out in articles about this murder, but we are never given any clues as to where Ahmaddiya Muslims can go to in order to feel safe.

There are cases where they have left Pakistan because of the dangers which they faced there, and been given refugee status in the UK.

Why now do they need to flee from Scotland? Will they feel safer in England, Wales or Northern Ireland? They cannot go back to Pakistan, so where in the world is it safe for them?

And what is meant by “copycat” extremist killings”? The murder victim in this case seems to have been targeted only because he claimed to be a prophet.

How many other Ahmaddiya Muslims in Scotland, or the UK, are also claiming to be prophets, so potentially being victims too?

WHY were the Muslims who had travelled from Bradford to support the accused not arrested when they started shouting support for their friend in the dock?

I do not have the solution but if our incompetent politicians don’t stop killings like this, extremists like Trump will be voted in and then God help us .

I hope Mr Shah rests in peace and I wish his family well.

READING about the firm winning its appeal to run a car park near the new hospital (Evening Time August 100, it's terrible that the council want to make money from people who are either sick or visiting the sick.

The council tax freeze is robbing the people of all amenities.

When they talk about saving money and being more efficient the only thing they do is take away people's employment and remove services.

Better we pay more tax and at least get something in return. Another vote winning scheme by politicians and we suffer for it.

I can't think of any public service that has not had drastic cuts. Look at the schools and all the classroom assistants cut.

Colleges with many lecturers missing and every school in Scotland has a higher pupil teacher ratio.

Police Scotland having police officers doing work that used to be done by administrative workers.
