Fast Link failure

THE story about a private car park to run for a year at the new hospital (Evening Times August 10), mentions the council are talking about extending the fast link service.

This service that has been a blatant failure.

A service that cost millions to set up and is underused.

A service that causes chaos at certain times at the area surrounding the squinty bridge as they have two bus only lanes that are seldom used as the bus companies have cut the original amount of buses.

This service that has been a unmitigated failure, but why should all that stand in the way off what our glorious leaders at the council want?

This council have buried their heads in the sand, once again and shown blatant disregard for the local communities.

Heartwarming

READING about the thousands of pounds raised to help the family of Gary Weir (Evening Times August 10) is heartwarming.

There seems to be a trend recently of people raising money whenever someone dies in tragic circumstances and I think it is to be applauded.

I’m sure the families affected take some small comfort from the fact that people are rallying round and giving money to help.

It can no way compensate for their loss but it goes a small way to giving them one less thing to worry about in terms of paying for a funeral, which can be extortionate.

Well done to everyone who has helped out and condolences to Gary’s family.

Look after Scots

READING about the calls for the Prime Minister to visit asylum seeker accommodation in Glasgow (Evening Times August 11), why would this be our country’s priority when our Scottish NHS is a disgrace, our Scottish economy is in the toilet, our Scottish education system is one of the worst in Europe, and we still have too many of our Scottish children still living in poverty, but yes ask our national PM to waste time on this nonsense, why don’t you.

When is this Scottish government ever going to start looking out for us Scots?

Govanhill 'horrific'

THERE should be calls for the Prime Minister to visit Ms Sturgeon’s Govanhill constituency where thousands of Eastern migrants are living six to sixteen and more in accommodation which should house four to eight tenants.

Circa sixteen thousand people living in the Govanhill area which should support eight thousand people.

Escort Mrs May along Victoria Road, down Allison Street, up Calder Street, in and out the back-greens, in the closes and up the stairs - “horrific.”
