Good on Rod

READING about Rod Stewart donating in memory of the Rangers fan who died in the coach crash (Evening Times October 6), Rod is the man.

He is not renowned for his largesse but this is a really special gesture.

My condolences to Mr Baird’s family at this time.

God bless Ryan

WHILE it’s a fine gesture, I am not sure why this donation by Mr Stewart has been made public.

There are many celebrities /ex footballers that have made donations but kept it private as well as football fans and every Rangers fans site has their own fund.

God bless you Ryan and all from this Rangers supporters’ club who must still be in a state of shock at this sad time.

PM ‘unreal’

READING about Prime Minister Theresa May saying the Tories are the party of the working class (Evening Times, October 6), is this woman for real?

They’ve allowed the super rich and multinationals to rule the roost and dodge taxes for generations.

The party of the working class will mean we are all on minimum wage with no rights, I assume?

Waste of money

SEEMS like Kezia Dugdale has changed her mind again (Evening Times, October 6).

She says “May is the face of the Tory Party that is rotten to its core ... a xenophobic and toxic party”.

Isn’t this the very Tory government/party that Kez and Labour’s northern branch spokesman, the invisible man Jim Murphy, among many others, that two years ago stood shoulder to shoulder with the Tories and told us “we are better together” ?

The Tories care for nothing but profit and big business, much like Tony Blair and co did!

They are even building pointless nuclear submarines using French steel – £41billion on French steel is a slap in the face for the few remaining UK steelmills!

So, for a cost around £125-150bn, we will have new subs armed with American nuclear Trident missiles, missiles we couldn’t even fire in anger without asking Uncle Sam’s permission!

So what’s the point in having “our own nuclear deterrent” if the Yanks control the code needed to launch these WMD?

Absolutely none. It’s £150billion down the drain.
