Don't ban supporters

HOW dare Caroline McCord suggest that football supporters should be discriminated against by banning them from driving to matches. (Evening Times letters October 18).

If the times when supporters are on the road cause her a problem then perhaps she should try to shop at a different time.

She and other shoppers could be causing huge inconvenience to football supporters on the roads.

HOW did Nicola Sturgeon ever get to lead Scotland?

Police Scotland is a financial disaster but how much money was totally wasted installing Gaelic road signs that a fraction of the Scottish population can read.

Now she wants a second try for independence has no one told her we don’t want it and that need the UK to survive.

'Disgraceful'

IT’S a disgrace that the SNP are using Brexit as an excuse for holding another Scottish Independence referendum, even if it’s not in Scotland’s best interests to go Independent.

Nicola Sturgeon is just as bad as all the Brexit remainers with all their doom and gloom over the UK leaving the EU.

It remains to be seen what life will be like outside of the EU but it may turn out to be the best thing to happen to the UK.

Many people voted to leave the EU because of their concern with uncontrolled immigration and the strain it has put on housing, jobs, NHS and public services.

But by Nicola Sturgeon’s arrogant and ignorant attitude to Brexit, she is showing no respect for the concerns of the people who voted to leave the EU.

It is clear that her campaign for Independence is purely for the SNP’s own selfish reasons.

Regulate buses

READING about MSP Adam Tomkins renewing his call for First Bus Glasgow to stop the scrapping of a “lifeline” bus service (Evening Times October 18), did he support the recent attempt in the Scottish Parliament to reintroduce regulation of public transport in Scotland?

Until the free for all on buses, trains and the subway is brought under control the only criterion for bus companies like First is profit.

Regulation can ensure that those who need public transport are put first.
