We need justice

BACK in the 1970s a well known Glasgow Sheriff was known among police officers, solicitors and their clients as Santa Clause because of his lenient sentencing.

As a regular reader of the Evening Times, I see he has been reincarnated with numerous criminals being sentenced to unpaid work when they should be incarcerated.

Unpaid work is not a punishment and if they ignore it they walk away unpunished which infuriates victims.

Uplift thanks

AFTER some trouble with communication via phone apps and a phone call to have the bulk uplifted from the back yard, I wish to say thank you very much to the two men who removed all the bulk very efficiently from Onslow Drive on Friday afternoon.

Both men were very polite and apologetic for the delay.

Accept vote

AGAIN I will say I regret voting for the SNP, I will not be voting for them again.

I voted to leave the United Kingdom in 2014, I voted to leave Europe in 2016. In the 2014 referendum Scotland voted to remain in the United Kingdom, 2016 the United Kingdom voted to leave Europe.

Why will Nicola Sturgeon not accept this?

Get out of politics if you cannot accept the will of the people of the United Kingdom that Scotland voted to remain part of.

Roadwork hell

READING about the new roadworks in the city centre (Evening Times November 28), they will be up at the busiest time of the year.

St Vincent St, West George St, Hope St and and now Cowcaddens Rd.

Absolutely shocking. No wonder people go to Braehead, Silverburn, The Fort, Forge etc.

It’s about time that services had to ask permission before they just turn up and close off roads.

And what happened to just get on with the job 24 hrs a day till it’s finished like other countries.

Water works

“SCOTTISH water apologise for any inconvenience “- if I had a pound for every time I see that next to a hole in the ground, I’d be a millionaire!

Perhaps instead of apologising, they’d like to get someone down said hole, fix the problem and get the road open?
