Move Old Firm

I TOTALLY agree with A Martin ( Evening Times December 7) about the Old Firm match.

Why not take the fixture to 2 or 3 January when families have had their New Year together?

Police Scotland can easily do this in cooperation with the Old Firm and existing sold tickets can be made valid for that date.

Any misconduct / violence from the Hogmanay fixture will leave Police Scotland complicit.

Crazy!

Immigrants help

READING about the raid on the city car wash (Evening Times December 7) and the comments made online from readers, I would like to point out that immigrants help staff our hospitals, teach in our schools, set up and run interesting restaurants, design our museums, build our houses, play for our sport teams and generally become become fine upstanding Glaswegians.

They have made Glasgow a much more interesting place to live and work.

What is there not to like?

Do we want to go back to Glasgow of the 80’s, where the first thought of any aspiring young Glaswegian was to get the train to London out of here?

Today, people like Glasgow so much they are coming from all over the world not just as tourists but actually to live here.

Glasgow certainly has it’s problems but immigration is not one of them.

Wake up call

READING about the mum complaining about a lack of letters in her son’s alphabet potato shapes (Evening Times online December 6), there are more and more people having to use food banks to feed their kids.

Some kids would be grateful for £1 alpha letters.

It would do her good to give herself a wee wake up call. Ridiculous!

Unbelievable

READING about police releasing CCTV of an indecency on a bus (Evening Times December 7), I know of a incident which occurred in a large store in the East End.

The assistant refused to serve a ‘drunk’ male customer with more drink as he was already unfit.

The shop assistant was then struck on the head and needed hospital treatment.

On viewing CCTV, police stated ‘We do not know him, if you find out his name and address we will arrest him’.

Almost unbelievable eh?!
