I HAVE just watched the snooker with John Higgins playing Ronnie O'Sullivan and well done to Higgins.
What a sportsman he is, a true gent, and a great professional as have been all the Scottish snooker players for the past 30 odd years.
They are all great for Scotland and now we have Andy Murray leading the way the way in professionalism and sport.
Well done lads!

I HAVE been researching my family history and am trying to contact relatives of my paternal grandmother, Elmerina Welsh, who was born in Glasgow in 1903.
Her father was Richard Welsh (born in 1873) and they lived at 163 Renfield Street, Glasgow, prior to immigrating to Canada in the 1920’s.
Richard’s siblings were Rebecca Welsh (born in 1871), Elmerina Welsh (born in 1876) and Thomas Welsh (born in 1879).
Elmerina married Thomas Telford and had daughters Annie and Elmerina.
Thomas and most of his family immigrated to the US, but his youngest son Alexander, wife Peggy and son Finley remained in Scotland.
Elmerina is a common family name, and any women with that name are almost certainly related to me.
I am hoping that some readers will be familiar with these names and contact me at lb_nelson@shaw.ca.
