Another cinema?

READING about the plans to turn the former BHS store in the St Enoch Centre into a cinema (Evening Times December 22), so we have the multiplex near Buchanan Bus station, we have Buchanan Galleries putting in a multiplex and now another cinema.

Just what the city needs!

It's a fortune to park public transport and we have multiplex cinemas at various locations around the city.

Add to that Netflix, Virgin, Sky, and all the illegal down load sites.

Could someone please logically explain to e how on earth this will enhance Glasgow?

God Bless the Queen

I SEE that the Queen has once again demonstrated her concern for her subjects by cancelling a Christmas train trip for fear of infecting fellow travellers with her cold germs.

If only more sniffling members of the general public could realise that "coughs and sneezes spread diseases" and do likewise - especially at this time of year.

God bless you, Ma'am!

Centralise CCTV

Given the recent events in Berlin, as an idea for Glasgow City Council and the Chamber of Commerce; I would suggest as an idea they tap into the city deal money by subsiding businesses in the city centre to wire up their CCTV from their premises to the Glasgow operations centre.

This could combat shop lifting, address terrorism threats and increase public safety.

Shame on you

READING about the widower living in a freezing high rise (Evening Times December 22), this is a disgrace.

This woman should not have this problem in modern day Scotland.

The powers that should hang their heads in shame.

Running red lights

I HAVE noticed a huge increase in drivers totally ignoring red lights - especially at pedestrian crossings.

Only last week I was using a crossing and a motorbike just missed me when he ignored the red light.

Next day, same crossing - same thing with a taxi failing to comply with red light.

The problem is that a lack of resources for policing means that more and more laws are being broken by drivers because they are not enforced by anyone.
