Close borders

I’M 70 years old and I’m sick and tired of hearing about a second referendum.

Scotland is a shambles and the SNP continue to threaten us with this.

A giant hospital was built with less beds than in the others that it was replacing.

There are not enough schools, a police force on its knees, an NHS which can’t deliver. Not enough houses, not enough jobs.

There are too many people in Scotland and Scotland can’t cope.

The borders have to close until we can cope with the people already living here.

We need to start looking for new trade deals that will bring benefits to us all.

Job Centre travel

READING about the time taken to get from Maryhill job centre to Springburn (Evening Times January 17), single parents have to take their kids to the job centre and they have to pay extra bus fare for the kids.

They couldn’t walk for an hour with children in the pouring rain or expect them to walk the distance.

The children also have to sit through the interview. Imagine how distressing it would be for children to see their parents get sanctioned because the bus was late.

Arrogant adviser

READING about plans to raise council tax in Glasgow for the first time in 12 years (Evening Times January 17), personally I don’t mind paying a bit more as long as it’s used to help the most vulnerable but the council need to do their part.

I called the council to complain about something this afternoon and the “customer service adviser” could not have been more arrogant if she tried.

Thirty seven and a half day holiday allowance per year needs to be cut back to the same standard as everyone else.

Council cash

SO the dreaded tax is to be raised.

Once again the council is hell bent on ripping off the people of Glasgow for a very lack lustre service.

Is this intended to close the deficit gap or to cover up that the council has already used the majority of the budget for this year during last years spending?

This council has raised millions in revenue from other streams yet it never seems to benefit the city.

There was the so called Christmas Market that was sited on George Square and millions raised through the bus gate scandal.
