Don't change pub

I WAS incensed to hear that yet another of Glasgow’s traditional pubs, MacSorley’s, is facing a ‘facelift’.

Why do people want to destroy what makes Glasgow Glasgow?

They have live music four nights a week but want seven nights. Why will changing the interior help this?

I sincerely hope that the exterior and windows are not touched.

Living wage

I RECENTLY read an article in the Evening Times (December 19) about Scots workers being paid less than the real living wage.

I work for a call centre who do third party work for British Gas booking smart meter installation appointments.

We get paid £7.25 per hour which is just above the government’s national living wage.

We only get paid flat rate overtime and do not get paid for the first three days of sickness.

Sort out Scotland

THE First Minister needs to change the record.

We are sick and tired of her ranting on about a ‘second referendum’, she is becoming an embarrassment to Scotland.

She is responsible for turning Govanhill in Glasgow into a refuge camp, and has done nothing to resolve the huge problems with education, NHS and Police Scotland.

Obese drain

IF all the ( thoughtless, weak-willed, selfish ) obese and overweight people donated the cash they were going to spend on eating to help provide food and shelter for all the refugees they would benefit from doing something useful for both themselves and society.

This would also help reduce the strain on the NHS through people abusing it to treat self-inflicted conditions such as obesity driven diabetes.

City life

SO, Sandra White MSP suggests families should live in the city. (Evening Times January 18).

A week ago we were told that city dwelling could cause chronic ill health, such as heart disease, mental illness and even cancer.

Apart from that, what about parking, play areas for children, family gardens and the noise from traffic and night life?
