With regards Jonathan McGurk, who was fined and banned from owning animals after mistreating his puppy Charlotte, all pets want it to be loved, fed and given plenty of water.

Charlotte will have been in dreadful pain; at 16 weeks old bones are very soft.

We are so happy for Charlotte that she has been re-homed and hope she has a long, happy life with her new owners.

In response to the article in the Evening Times of February 7 regarding light in Queen's Park, I would like to add a few comments.

Any more intrusions in the park, which has been ploughed up by Scottish Water recently, would be extremely detrimental to the wildlife and he citizens of Glasgow.

Light pollution is one of the great polluters of our environment and lighting in Glasgow and especially parks should be kept to a minimum or not used at all.

If Chris Pech and his family are too big fearties to walk without strip lighting maybe they could invest in a hand held torch and leave the landscape of the Queens Park in Glasgow as natural as it can be.

With regards plans for more student flats in Glasgow, what about social housing for families or homeless people looking to get onto the housing ladder?

The number of flats specifically for students in the city is getting out of proportion with what's actually needed.

More student flats for Glasgow?

How many more?

It's turning into studentsville, a lot of the accommodation is expensive enough. How will people afford it?

It was a miracle that all those children survived the bus crash in Cumbernauld with just minor injuries.

They seem to have dealt very well with what they went through and it shows how strong the community spirit is in the school that pupils were able to return to classes.

They will probably have nightmares and feel quite wobbly in the days and weeks to come so I wish them well.

And well done to young Joe Smith for speaking so bravely.
