Electioneering?

FRANK McAveety, outlining specific ‘achievements’ by the current administration (Evening Times February 28), states that they are putting more money into neighbourhood teams to clean up the city and some tenants will be receiving a new bin shortly.

Given the number of complaints about the state of this city highlighted in this newspaper for months on end, is the fact that an election is on the horizon something to do with this?

Old fashioned

I WAS amazed to read one head is in charge of two schools, particularly given the size of the school roll at Holyrood. (Evening Times March 1)

I didn’t realise until recently that teachers in RC schools had to be Catholics.

If we are struggling to find head teachers isn’t it time to do away with this old fashioned sectarianism?

Job too stressful

I KNOW of someone who took charge of two Ayrshire primaries for two years until he retired as the stress got too much for him.

This is an absolute joke and has no benefit for anyone in the long run.

Own headteacher

I DEFINITELY don’t think it’s a good idea to have one head teacher in charge of two schools.

Have you seen the size of Holyrood? It needs its own dedicated head teacher.

Homes needed

READING about the latest plan for student flats (Evening Times February 23), who is councillor George Redmond - another SNP glory seeker or trouble maker?

Students do not pay anything in tax to help this city.

They are welcome, but we cannot understand why all the prime building sites are being given to these developers and none to build homes for Glasgow residents.

Better suited

READING about New Look taking over the former HMV building (Evening Times March 1), the Disney Store would’ve suited it better!

The shop that they are in is cramped and they are trying to fit too much in.
