READING about the Clyde Tunnel being in need of “major open heart surgery” if it is to last the next ten years (Evening Times March 6), it’s an absolute disgrace that money for repairs to the Clyde Tunnel and exit routes are not from a separate pot of money that comes from the Scottish Government.

As a Glasgow City Council resident, why should my council tax subsidise others from every other local authority throughout Scotland who utilise the tunnel.

I bet a very large percentage of Glaswegians DON’T use the tunnel........ever!

Wasting cash

THE council should stop wasting money on unfit for purpose bike lanes, stop wasting money on bus lanes, stop wasting money on 20mph zones with traffic calming, and spend the money on the Clyde Tunnel instead.

SNP to go

SO, all the major hospitals in the West End of Glasgow were closed and moved to the south side end of the tunnel yet the SNP government will not support tunnel maintenance.

Bridge crossings were made free and ferry fares subsidised yet the people of Glasgow have to put up with substandard roads?

Time for Glasgow hating SNP to go.

Unisex doubts

READING about the plan for unisex toilets at a Glasgow primary (Evening Times March 6), I actually don’t know what to think of this.

If it’s actually like individual toilets that share a sink, then that seems ok, I guess.

However, while I would imagine that some children have trouble with their gender and identity, I would also imagine that some kids would feel equally uncomfortable going to unisex toilets.

They have made allowances with the private one, but couldn’t they have done it the other way around.

Don't sexualise

IF the kids are brought up with unisex toilets they wont know anything different.

They are primary school kids let them be kids for as long as possible and don’t try to sexualise them by looking for agendas.

I have worked with several trans gender people over the years and to be honest they all have lots of other issues besides their sexual uncertainty.
