READING about the young boy who was sent home from hospital four times in pain with a burst appendix (Evening Times March 9), my 11-year-old grandson was in the very same hospital, for the very same reason, last week.

His care, right from the out of hours service who saw him first, right throughout his stay, was exemplary.

The doctors, nurses and surgeons on ward 2C were amazing, his treatment first class, and he is making a great recovery.

The media should be doing more to highlight the positives in the NHS, not just the minority of cases where mistakes get made.

Happened before

THE same thing happened to my girl 12 years ago.

She was sent home from Yorkhill 3 times and told it was a bug.

She had been walking about with burst appendix ended up in hospital for 3 weeks.

This is shocking that this keeps happening!

Happy sharing

READING about the plan for unisex toilets in new build primaries (Evening Times March 6), this is the case in the new Lenzie primary and those who were most unhappy were those who had experienced divided toilets previously.

Most parents that I know of primary one children have been open minded and our kids are quite happy sharing.

I think decent bathroom manners are the important thing, regardless of gender.

Line madness!

READING about the council digging up freshly painted parking bays (Evening Times March 9), the same thing happened last year on Otago Street.

It must have been no more than a week after the road lines were repainted that Scottish Water came in and completely dug up the street!

Not enough cash

READING about Nicola Sturgeon not ruling out independence vote in 2018 (Evening Times online March 9), where is the money for this Utopia coming from?

Scotland produces less than we spend!

Nicola thinks being part European union will mean they will pump money into us but the fact is they couldn’t care less about us.
