THE other day I decided to take a bus into Argyle Street.

On alighting from the bus, a young man sat on the pavement begging for money.

Walking along the street I had to dodge a young woman who was obviously stoned or drunk staggering straight at me.

She dodged me and staggered the whole width of Argyle Street and bumped into the wall at Debenhams, shouting and swearing all the way across.

I boarded a bus ASAP and set out for home.

As we travelled, a man came on the bus with a cute wee fluffy dog and sat where the prams can park.

Suddenly he lifted the wee dog and bolted to the seat behind me and then I saw why - another guy obviously stoned out of his head had boarded with the most aggressive looking “staffy”.

He sat on that seat, he was followed with his equally stoned girlfriend who fell asleep.

When they came to their stop, he stood up and shouted to her to wake up. She staggered off, pushing her way through the folk who were trying to board.

What has happened to our young people, and what is anyone doing about it?

Glasgow is awash with drugs and addicts. Someone somewhere has to get a grip.

Wrong decision

READING about the Chinese woman facing deportation (Evening Times March 29), it was the same with the American social worker they wanted to send back.

She was qualified and could earn a good wage while supporting her Scottish student boyfriend.

She has to leave while certain EU citizens bleed the system dry and destroy a once nice part of our city.

B for begging?

REGARDING the second referendum vote, perhaps an SNP supporter could tell me what their “elected” have done for Scotland?

All very good at passing the buck and slagging off the Westminster majority.

Also very good at being in denial, fingerpointing, and shirking.

Truth is, the SNP have squandered millions of pounds of taxpayers money, and as a result we have food banks, emergency services stretched to breaking point, homelessness, and benefits cuts.

Govanhill has become a hovel. Foodbanks have opened left, right and centre.

The whole Brexit thing is another blatant case of manipulation. The SNP have been told if Scotland becomes independent, they will have to apply for EU membership, but existing members will veto it.

No currency, no EU. What’s plan B? Begging?
