READING about a vital bus service being under threat just five months after it was introduced (Evening Times April 10), so they replaced a frequent service with one per hour and expect that to be good enough?

How many of these busses, like so many other route services First run, failed to operate, meaning a two hour service?

The First Glasgow bus service is a shambles except on the lucrative routes.

It’s all about the money and nothing to do with the needs of the community.

Stand together

I WAS very impressed that PC Palmer, who was killed in line of duty, was given an excellent send off with officers from the US attending clearly sends a message.

We stand together.

This was a time that the world awakened by this horrible attack on an innocent person whom carries the respect of not only the Metropolitan police but Police Scotland and the rest of police forces throughout the world .

There is a lot of those who don’t like or respect the police but I now say its time you respect these officers no matter where you live.

They are in a job to protect you, they are here to keep order.

Give thought, give respect.

Amazing man

WHAT an amazing man and human being Arnold Clark was.

He has been absolutely remarkable for the city of Glasgow and Scotland in general.

Rest in peace wee Arnie.

Call sooner

READING about the fly tipping in Newton Mearns (Evening Times April 11), did it never occur to the residents who saw the lorry dumping waste to call SEPA?

I called them when I saw a JCB driver digging a hole and putting four fifty gallon steel drums in and covering it over.

They were on the scene really sharpish.

Fly-tipping plague

THE Newton Mearns rubbish is obviously a case of fly-tipping.

In passing, the people of The Mearns are experiencing that which the people of Govanhill have had to put up with for years.

Warning to The Mearns, it’s coming to a place near you soon.
