I HAVE read in the press recently that RBS are going to be closing branches with Anniesland being one.

I was in this branch today and had to wait in a queue for almost 25 mins to be served.

If this is not a strong case that this branch seems to be very well used I don’t know what is!

I would also point out that after this closure the nearest branches are Byers Road and Clydebank.

We are always being told use you local branch or you may lose it, if today is normal any time I am in it is Anniesland is being used very well.

Narrow minded

DID I hear Nicola Sturgeon correctly on TV, did she really say the Prime Minister decided on a general election because of her narrow minded Government.

No one in the UK is more narrow minded than the first minister.

She has neglected schools, hospitals, the NHS and the police to concentrate on independence.

Self serving

I THOUGHT that the parliament in the UK was fixed at a five year term.

So this is another case of these politicians doing as they please.

We first had them abusing the expenses system, one was claiming to get his garden done another was claiming for a duck house.

We now have Nicola Sturgeon refusing to accept the result of two referendums, and now Teresa May is ignoring the fact that David Cameron brought in a five year fixed term.

Election too soon

WHETHER or not Prime Minister Theresa May’s announcement was a shock to you, the date for this snap General Election is incredibly soon, plus of course, it follows hot on the heels of the local elections.

With all political parties now turning their attention to continued campaigning, it is a huge concern that all the important ‘issues of the day’ will take a back seat for the foreseeable future. This is far from ideal.

Gaelic flourishing

READING about the consultation on Glasgow’s Gaelic School (Evening Times April 19), I think it’s a great idea to keep Scotland’s first language flourishing.

Many more Gaelic schools are needed.
