With regards your story about the money the city council makes from fines: fines are clearly not a long term solution to stop or reduce the incidences of flytipping.

It's just a money grabbing exercise that does nothing to improve the areas that see the worst cases of litter.

People need taught to have pride.

To care about their local community and to see the benefits of clean streets and know that we all must play our part in cleaning up Glasgow.

What must tourists and visitors think when they see how dirty and messy our city is.

If we want them to come back and spend their money in our city we must present it to them the way we see other European cities.

Glaswegians must do more.

The city council shouldn't have to pick up our litter we drop.

Use a bin - save wasted council hours in cleaning up our mess.

What a proud boast for Glasgow that we have more millionaires than anyone else in the country.

It shows the city's entrepreneurial spirit is still alive and well.

We have a proud history of invention and success in Scotland as a whole and the fact people are going out into the world and doing so well for themselves is something we should be shouting about.

Good for Glasgow - 16 millionaires.

Let's increase their tax and make sure they are using their good luck - and success - to help others who have little.

What kind of city is this where there are people using food banks and others earning more money than they can comfortably spend in one lifetime.

Arthur Shields, Milton

I think we have had enough now of Ian Brady.

His crimes were despicable and he is a disgrace to Glasgow.

He revelled in the notoriety and fame his evil deeds got for him so why are we giving him more publicity?

Everyone knows about the Moors Murders.

Brady's victims are still alive and still suffering.

Let them live their lives in peace without this brute appearing in the press every other day.

He's dead. Let's move on, with respect to his victims.
