WELL done the SNP for helping the Tories back into power.

If Nicola Sturgeon had accepted the result of the 2014 referendum that Scotland voted to remain as part of the UK, and then accepted the result of the 2016 referendum that the UK voted to leave the European Union, and had not rabbited on about a second Independence referendum then the Tories would not have gained the amount of seats they did.

But may I say to the Scottish people who voted for the Tories, people who do not normally vote Tory, when you hear in the news about more and more children being brought up in poverty and see our young people sleeping rough in shop doorways, they can say I voted for that!

Voting apathy

ONLY 58% of the Glaswegian electorate bothered to vote last week, while their neighbours in East Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire voted in the high seventy percents.

If Glasgow voters are so apathetic, this only encourages your councillors to be equally so.

Wrong priorities

WE have allowed, by our voting in Scotland, this Conservative government the ability to cling on to power.

Despite a calamitous judgement decision to hold a general election which has highlighted a contemptuous disregard to a grass roots awareness of our time and space, not least exemplified by our fabulous young voters.

But we are left with a legislative that is flawed, led by a severely damaged leader who will head up the Brexit negotiations.

Having said that, in Scotland we have food banks, we have child poverty, we have ‘ means’ tested third child payments, dementia tax, and the Scottish Tory leader’s priority on the alliance to keep her party in power - gay rights.

Unacceptable

I AM totally angry and upset as to why the Glasgow Art School can be able to block of streets and install a marquee for bands next to a residential area for a nightly event.

They don’t consider the elderly when blasting out the music late at night.

There were children as young as four present while hoards were drinking alcohol.

If anyone else applied for such event its most likely to be refused but the GSA have plenty funds so it’s ok?

In my eyes as a resident it’s wrong. They could have placed the marquee on Renfield Street rather than on Dalhousie Street next to residents. Absolutely unacceptable.
