Glasgow is just crying out for the reintroduction of trams in the city.

The councillors must take note and give the green light for Glasgow to have trams back.

Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Dublin, Nottingham, Croydon and Blackpool all operate successful systems.

Glasgow would be an even better city with trams back.

Inspiring

What an inspiration to read about the group of Glasgow residents who were born before or during the First World War having a get-together.

Their memories of growing up around that time would be very valuable for young people and maybe we should look at some way of recording it. Their stories are something that could be used to help school children learn about the war.

Black scenes

I was disgusted to see the 'Black Friday' sale scenes, with so-called shoppers out for a bargain.

I object to this introduction from America being part of our culture - why should it be if we don't even celebrate Thanksgiving, which Black Friday is supposed to follow.

Secondly, it looks to be all about greed - not just in material assets, but I get the feeling people will be selling these cut price items online.

There are people in the UK having to rely on food banks to feed their families and to see these Black Friday scenes in shops makes me sick. I hope someone has a sense of guilt about taking part in this whole fiasco.

A gentleman

How sad to hear of the death of former Scotsport presenter Arthur Montford. He was a true gentleman who was a throwback to the days when football was truly a game for the working man.

I met him and was struck by what a smart, friendly and obviously intelligent man he was.

Imagine a sports commentator nowadays being elected university rector ahead of two high profile politicians, one a member of the House of Lords.
