REGARDS blue badge issues, how about when they're checking all these badges someone at the council gives them the right also to fine all the drivers that park in reserved bays with no badge at all.

I stay in Govanhill and have one painted outside my door and between the garages across the road and general public, I'm lucky to get parked in it. I'm informed by neighbours and others it's only courtesy and not law. Maybe it's time we accept courtesy is in short supply and make it illegal to park in any disabled bay unless you have a badge or does that not save money.

TYPICAL of the SNP's Stewart Hosie to tell Glaswegians how we have had enough of the Tories austerity as our city has some of the most impoverished area in the country. He forgot to mention that every year since the SNP came to power, Glasgow has been close to or at the top of the Scottish councils for budget cuts and at the bottom when it comes to redistribution. As in the referendum the SNP are promising us all these riches tomorrow but still do not attempt to explain how it is to be paid for at least the Labour Party and the the Tories make an attempt at it as many recent figures show they just do not have an answer.

Ian Stewart

WE have started the countdown to a General Election we will be promised this and that from all parties. When is a politician going to stand up and tell the truth, if we don't want to live in a third world country we must pay tax. Since Thatcher sold off the country's assets the only income the government have comes from taxation. As the current government has had to borrow £150 billion this year obviously they are not collecting enough in tax but they are advocating further tax cuts how does that work.

I SEE they are bringing out a postage stamp with Billy Connolly on it. Why? He has made millions slagging off Scotland Glasgow in particular. He doesn't even live here any more. There must be more deserving people than him.
