But Christopher Mason is right, we need to do more to highlight this very stressful job.
According to the Government it is not a job, and you are classed as unemployed. But it's a 24/7, 365 days a year job for some.
Carers also save the government and NHS billions of pounds every year.

I saw the ship
I WAS very interested to see the photo of the John Brown workers in the lift on board the liner Transvaal Castle on your Memories page (October 16).
As a schoolboy, I well remember admiring the ship's lavender hull, white upperworks and red funnel in the fitting out basin at Clydebank.
As you said, she later became the cruise ship Festivale and was scrapped under the rather unromantic name of 'The Big Boat'.

Seeds of joy
I WOULD like to thank whoever is responsible for the wild flowers in two areas at Dalmarnock Road. They make me smile each time I pass.
So much pleasure from just a couple of packets of seeds. More verges that would benefit from the same treatment.

I SEE that Mo Farah is to run the London marathon next year instead of taking part in the Commonwealth Games.
He has probably been offered big bucks to run.
At one time athletes took part for the love of it, but now it is all money.

I THINK Michelle McManus was very brave to take part in the Mod, singing in a language that until recently was entirely foreign to her.
She was by far and away the best singer on show in Paisley. She will surely be a future Mod medal winner.
