STREETS AHEAD is the Evening Times campaign which set the city the challenge of changing Glasgow for the better street by street.
A huge challenge, but one which has been taken up by many individuals and groups all over the city, inspired to improve their surroundings in a number of ways such as cleaning up an eyesore site or brightening up their streets.
The success is down to those with the ideas and determination, but it is only possible with the help of our partners Clean Glasgow, City Charitable Trust, Glasgow Housing Association and Scottish Fire and Rescue for their expertise and support.
Next week, in our Streets Ahead awards, we will honour the best of the projects that have been a success thanks to the campaign and recognise the commitment of those who have worked so hard to make a difference.
There are seven categories and three finalists of the highest calibre, which are sure to present the judging panel with a difficult decision.
Because, as we know from spotlighting many Streets Ahead projects, they are driven by the determination and community spirit of people who want to ensure Glasgow is the best it can be.
The finalists all deserve their place, but every single project has been a credit to Glasgow.
