RATHER than a lower drink-drive limit, I think we should have a zero-tolerance approach to drinking and driving.
Different people have different tolerance levels to alcohol. I bet everyone would admit there have been times when even one drink has made them feel a little woozy.
We would never allow bus or train drivers to get behind the wheel after a glass of wine or pint of beer - so why should we tolerate it in car drivers?
If people can't sort out a designated driver - or if they have to drive for a night out but can't do without a drink - then they simply shouldn't have a driving licence.

Train robbery
The scum who attacked a blind man on a train and stole his belongings must be caught asap and put behind bars.
I hope the pair enjoy themselves behind bars, in separate jails.

Honesty box
I'm not sure we should have to pay to visit Glasgow Cathedral, or any other place of worship.
A donation box, or honesty box, should be enough. Most people would be happy to stump up a small amount but they might find it off-putting if they were forced to pay just to get through the door.
It's easy to make a case for St Paul's or York Minster, where the upkeep costs are massive. Historic Scotland should be able to keep Glasgow Cathedral wind and watertight through donations.

Tables turned
SO, Johann Lamont quit as Scottish Labour leader because she didn't like being told what to by out of touch politicians in London.
Perhaps now she understands how the 45% of us who voted for independence have felt for most of our lives.
Welcome to the real world, Johann.

Lane off-limits
Maybe Ashton lane should be off-limits to all footballers. They don't have much luck there.
