Hooray!

I'm delighted to see a few cyclists using their dedicated lane along Waterloo Street.

There was almost a traffic jam the other morning!

With their own set of lights, it could not be better for them.

However, I would still like to see the figures for how much it costs.

I really don't think it will add up.

Slum landlords

REGARDING the £32million bid to end the slum hell in Govanhill.

Let's just make sure the slum landlords do not make any money out of this. The area as a whole is a slum.

It used to be such a nice part of Glasgow.

Flooding plan

Good to see money being putting into a project to help stop flooding (Evening Times Thursday, December 12). These are exactly the kinds of projects that Scottish Water should be investing in.

As council tax payers and water rates payers, we are the ones funding them. You feel sorry for the people affected by the recent flooding in October. It must be awful to go through something like that.

If we can prevent flooding with new measures - let's do it.

Toybank bid

Congratulations to all those involved with organising the toybank at Gorbals Parish Church.

Glasgow Central MP Anas Sarwar and all the volunteers have played a valuable role in ensuring youngsters have a gift to open on Christmas morning.

I hope as many people as possible can donate some new toys to these youngsters.

Gym disruption

I see we are to get supergyms while the Commonwealth Games are held next year.

It was inevitable there would be disruption. I can't wait to get back in to the new premises as a Games legacy for the people of Glasgow when they are over.
