I'M sick of the fact that ScotRail just keep putting up our fares each year.
One day last week I paid £14.30 for a peak return journey into Glasgow. It is a ridiculous amount given that it is not a long journey.
I will have to buy a weekly ticket on Monday and I dread to think how much that will cost.
I've read that the reason we commuters face annual increases is that the government wants us,and not ordinary taxpayers, to pay for rail investment.
But the rail companies have us over a barrel.
One of these days I am going to learn how to drive - then won't have to pay absurd amounts to get to work each day.

Lonely Saturday nights
SATURDAY nights just aren't the same in my house since Strictly Come Dancing ended.
There was some fantastic dancing on show, especially from the likes of Caroline Flack and Pixie Lott.
Even Judy Murray deserved something for her gallant efforts each week despite comments by some of the judges. I thought Craig Revel Horwood was too over-the-top sometimes.
So now there's a big gap in Saturday-night viewing at my house. Here's hoping it won't be too long before the next series starts!

Lessons can be learned from dear Meg
IT'S amazing that Meg Melvin, one of Scotland's oldest ladies, who has died at the age of 108, was born in the year of the San Francisco earthquake.
What an incredibly long life she had.
It's interesting that she lived a healthy life and never over-indulged apart from the odd glass of Baileys.
There's a lesson for the rest of us there.

Hospital appointment system needs attention
Regarding the report in the Evening Times about the action on hearing loss and the plan to recruit people to staff and raise awareness. It's a great plan and I wish them all the luck with it, but I would like it more if the people in charge would try more to improve the waiting times to get a hospital appointment. A member of my family went to doctor concerned about hearing and was told there is a years' waiting time. That was from December 2014 and was told it would be December 2015 before they would see anyone.
