Celebrities and big businesses using loopholes not to pay the same taxes as the plebs; MPs claiming every single penny possible in expenses; councillors and council staff not paying their Council Tax; charity bosses pocketing hug pay deals; supermarket bosses buying themselves jets; India sending up rockets while we send them billions to feed their starving people while some of our own depend on food banks; criminals with millions stashed away being allowed to keep their ill-gotten gains due to the abject failure of our legal system to claw back the proceeds of crime.

What is going on? Crime doesn't pay?

Don't make me laugh. Britain is one big fiddlers' rally.

Patient parking

Regards the pay to park plan in Govan, it sounds as if it will be another Gartnavel disaster.

It suits the NHS if patients are willing to go to any hospital for treatment, rather than wait for an appointment at their nearest one, but with planners having a policy of insufficient parking, I would no longer want to take up an appointment on the other side of the city.

Pay your way

How can it be right for Holyrood to write-off millions of pounds in unpaid poll tax debt?

It seems to me there is less and less incentive to work hard, pay your way and follow the rules.

I wonder if the non-payers used fewer services than those who paid up. I doubt it.
